The hardware element of Millennia EPOS consists of a range of full touch-screen terminals with receipt and bill printers, cash drawer and data storage options. The terminals are interfaced to the main computer system using industry-standard open systems architecture.

These techniques avoid the need for complex devices between the EPOS system and the front office computer system. This means that the system is truly 'on-line' and point-of-sale users have instant verification of guest detail and credit facilities, and guest bills are always up-to-date.
