The Union Jack Club have recently launched an App (PWA) for their members to download to their smartphone. A Progressive Web Application is a type of application software delivered through the web, built using common web technologies including HTML, CSS and JavaScript. It is intended to work on any platform that uses a standards-compliant browser, including both desktop and mobile devices.
Installed from their web site on to a mobile device (no need to go to the App store!), it creates an icon on the phone or tablet, and with device stored passwords it provides a 2-click access to all of the Millennia web services and other content available only to people signed in.
It’s proving a hit with over 500 downloads in the first couple of weeks.
